Ms. Stone teaches English II Puente and English I CP.  Puente is a bridge to college program that helps students obtain the necessary skills and knowledge to go to a four-year college after high school.  This is Puente's second year at Newark Memorial High School, and students have already had the opportunity to visit colleges such as UC Berkeley, Stanford, and UC Hastings, give back to their community through various community service opportunities, and read culturally relevant literature that has enabled them to explore their own family histories.
