I grew up in Newark and am a product of the Newark education system. I am a Bunker, Newark Junior High, and Newark Memorial (c/o 2001) grad. While I was a student at Newark Memorial, I developed a strong passion and respect for Mathematics and was forever changed.
I went on to college at California Polytechnic State University (SLO) to pursue a degree in Computer Science, only to find myself enjoying my math classes more than my programming classes (although both were stimulating). Due to the recession of the early 2000s, I transferred home my Junior year to finish at CSU, East Bay. Although graduating in 2005 with a major in Business Administration and a minor in Computer Science, I soon realized that teaching high school students about my passion is what I wanted to do.
I have been teaching at Newark Memorial since 2006 and hope that I can influence and expose these young adults to the beauty within math, in the way that my previous math teachers have shown me while attending NMHS.
