Jo Lynn Hanke
I am a Math teacher at Newark Memorial High School. This year I am teaching Algebra 2 and Advanced Placement Calculus AB. If you visit the Math Department front page at nmhsmath.newarkunified.org and click on your course, you can view notes, assignments, classwork solutions, etc.
I have a BA in Applied Mathematics from UC Berkeley and I earned my teaching credential through Cal-State East Bay.
My husband and I have lived in Newark for over 25 years. All of our 3 children have attended school in Newark and graduated from Newark Memorial. Our oldest son graduated in 2009. He attended Chabot College for 2 years then transferred to UC Davis where he earned a bachelors degree in Chemistry. He worked for a couple of years and this Fall he will be starting graduate studies at the University of Vermont. My daughter graduated in 2011. She attended Ohlone College for 3 years then transferred last year to UC Santa Cruz. She plans to graduate next spring with a bachelors degree in Biology. My youngest son graduated from NMHS in June 2015 and he will begin his Freshman year at UC Davis in September.
If you ever need extra help, I tutor after school on Monday in room 304 and Tuesdays in room 313. There is also peer tutoring available every day before and after school in the Star Lab.
I am excited about the coming year and all that lays in store for us.
