Modern Language Courses

The Modern Language department seeks to promote the benefits of personal enrichment, career advancements, multi-cultural awareness, and international understanding enhanced through the study of a modern language.  The programs are demanding and require a significant amount of self-discipline.  Although essential for the college-bound student, modern language classes are open to all students who are willing to work hard in order to learn how to communicate in a language other than English.  For a successful Modern Language experience, level 1 students must have a C or better (B recommended) in their previous Junior High Language Arts or High School English class.  To progress from one level of a language to the next, students must have a C or better in the previous Modern Language class.
