Hi! I'm very excited to be teaching at Newark Memorial in both MCA and in the Fine Arts Dept. I'm a Bay Area native, being born and raised in Alameda. Art, whether it is digital or not, is all about how we chose to communicate visually. So my classes view art with that focus first. What is this piece saying? And historically, how did this piece speak to it's audience?
My own art background is a mix of digital art skills, photography, craft(makers and modifiers), and traditional drawing and painting. Although I work with many medium I prefer traditional oil painting for my own artwork.
In both Media 10 and Digital Photography 1 students will learn the elements of art concurrently with the technical aspect of the medium. Students will practice creating a concept, using art theory to communicate their message, while using their tools in a way that brings that concept to reality.
I am easily reachable by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. (I will update with a phone number soon.)
